See the best article here - The Official Unofficial FAQ/Bible

Introducing the RPG Maker VX Wiki

There are many similar questions about VX asked, and the current FAQ and Guide to Events are great, but I thought some larger, consolidated database of information would be really helpful for to our beloved newbies. Luckily, Dark let us all know about a Wiki she made not too long ago. I had already went about the RMVX Support/Help forum scrounging for the common denominator: what questions are asked most often, and what sorts of knowledge and understanding would be a godsend to new users, so, when I found about the Wiki, I compiled this information into a new place. Thus, the first article for the RPG Maker VX Wiki was born - the Official Unofficial FAQ/Bible.

The Wiki will have everything you need to know about RPG Maker VX when it is finished. This includes tutorials, guides, and, of course, frequently asked questions and their solutions. Some things may remain on the forums, of course, too.

Rules for Editing the Wiki (borrowed and modified from Wikia's rules)

1. The Wiki can be edited by anyone! Be bold. (Changes can always be reverted smile.gif)

2. Be civil to other users at all times

3. When in doubt, take it to the talk page. We have all the time in the world. Mutual respect is the guiding behavioural principle of Wikia and, although everyone knows that their writing may be edited mercilessly, it is easier to accept changes if the reasons for them are understood. If you discuss changes on the article's talk (or discussion) page before you make them, you should reach consensus faster and happier.

4. Decent edit summaries and clear and transparent explanations are universally appreciated. Other editors need to understand your process, and it also helps you yourself to understand what you did after a long leave of absence from an article. Please state what you changed and why. If the explanation is too long, add more on the discussion page.

5. Ignore the rules if they prevent you from improving the Wiki

Question: I want to add something. How do I do it?

Check the Helping Out section on the main page of the Wiki. Good tips there and it's where I started the articles I added.

Addendum: We currently need all the help we can get! Please add good articles!
