To Create Something New, Just Combine!

Well known among food lovers and medium-fine diners in Jakarta, Citrus Cafe is indeed an excellent place to gather, party or having a romantic dinner.

Almost all dishes in the menu are general delicacies – which most people surely like (Chicken Cordon Bleu, Oxtail Soup, Caesar Salad, etc). The special thing is, when two general flavors are combined, they form a new, unique taste, just like Remy said in “Ratatouille”.

For instance, I tried Filled Mignon Steak Spaghetti (Australian Tenderloin). It’s just like ordering two menus, cut the unwanted off and eat them together, creating a new sensation. They also offer steak-egg and steak-shrimp combo, chicken parmigiana-spaghetti, etc. These fascinating combos are of course, comes with reasonable pricing, especially for Australian Beef and Norwegian Salmon. And perhaps Citrus might want to improve on the side veggies on the steaks, though.

For beverage, feel the extra special sensation through Jamocha Shake, Kahlua/Bailey’s Jamocha and Bahamas Breeze.

No service charge here, so you might want to thank the waiters for their very helpful service the usual or the Indonesian (tipping) way, though I don’t want to say the latter out loud here. In short, if you want to enjoy a good time, a special occasion, great food combos and generally liked food, Citrus Cafe is definitely your first choice. Just drop by and find out for yourself.

Oh well, maybe that’s because I was longing for Australian Tenderloin for a long time. Tastes heavenly... Minor improvements here and there will be beneficial, too.

My Hanoi House - La Piazza

Food:
Well, although a little bit small in portion, the Sauteed Beef Basil was very tasty and fragrant. Mixed with rice... yum yum! Soo refreshing! I was yet to differ between Stewed Prawn with Honey & Tamarind Sauce and Chinese Prawn Dishes. The Fresh Spring Roll - Beef is indeed refreshing too (3pcs per portion).
The next time I dine there, I'll try the Pho Bo Noodle.

Ambience:
I'd say it's standard ambience, with tropical-vietnamese look in the interior and a view of La Piazza Kelapa Gading in the exterior. Not much of a romantic one, but the big screen LCD TV with cool selection of shows adds some fun with the dinner. A great place for friends and family to dine in.

Pricing:
Mind you, 135.000,- for 3 dishes, 1 Viet Milk Tea + 1 Iced Lemon Tea is somewhat reasonable for this kind of restaurant and taste. UOB Buana Platinum and MEGA Visa Card holders will get 20% discount, but mind you to ask for details first before ordering. For MEGA Visa, minimum order is Rp 150.000,-

1/4 Chicken Meal with Savory Rice, Garden Pasta Salad, Coleslaw

Lunch in Kenny Roger's Roasters filled my day with superb taste sensation of chicken roasted with natural citrus, herbs and spices. The American Country Style culinary adventure indeed!

I tried 1/4 Chicken Original (with Mushroom Sauce) plus side dishes of Garden Pasta Salad, Coleslaw and Savoury Rice and Choco Raisin Muffin, and the taste is really something to remember, not just a stomach-filler. Truly, it's one of the best roasted chicken I've tasted so far. The warm-served muffins are also very tasty and refreshing.

Situated next to Kem Chicks Supermarket, KG Roasters is simply the next stop for shoppers for a great meal and good time with family and friends. Well, I expected something more: Live music or soothing country music from Kenny and friends. However, the hustle and bustle in the supermarket, the one-walled, open-for-all ambience only left the memory of food sensation in my mind. No point spending more than one and half hour or so chatting there. Just eat slowly, talk a bit, and just go and see what Pacific Place has in store next. (Hey, it was lunch anyway, not some romantic, country-style dinner).

The price is worth the food (and a bit of fun).
